U.S. Hardwood Species
The U.S. hardwood sawmilling and processing industry, the largest in the world, depends upon the hardwood forests of the United States for the widest range of temperate hardwood species in the world. Representing over 40 percent of the trees in the U.S., American hardwood species comprise one of the most sustainably managed forest resources in the world, producing consistent grades and providing for constant and reliable shipments.

Managed for both commercial and non-commercial purposes, any of the available species listed can be used for interior purposes, such as furniture, molding and millwork, cabinetry and much more. A number of species can be used for flooring, as well. For a taste of both the wide range of commercial species available and the wide variety of applications afforded by our unique and expanding resource, browse through AHEC's online Species Guide to determine which species meet your particular preferences.

Feel free to contact AHEC for a copy of the AHEC Species Guide.
